The staff at Hotel Villargentina are fantastic. They are friendly and extremely helpful. They are very patient with speaking English and are appreciative when visitors try to converse in a few Italian phrases. You can see the effort when they immediately don't have an answer to a question about visiting the Cinque Terre region. They do their best to get an answer.
The hotel is very clean but ve advised this is a European hotel. The rooms are small and bathrooms even smaller compared to North American counterparts. Email the hotel if you have any mobility or accommodation questions. Their responses are very timely and friendly.
The view from the Seaview rooms is worth booking. It's spectacular at night with your favorite beverage. You will get an elevator qr code pass upon check in. There are two elevators; one at the entrance to the pedestrian tunnel by the train station and one near the church. You might appreciate those after a full meal and a bottle of wine in the village.
I chose this hotel because it was above the village nightlife, spectacular views, highly rated staff and value for the booking dollar. We felt welcomed and appreciated by the hotel.
The breakfast was typical European with a few added delicious homemade cakes and preserves.
The beds are European comfortable with a mattress topper if configured together. Europeans always like a firmer bed however I'm finding I'm sleeping better. Perhaps it's all that walking.
If you need to ask the hotel a question in advance you will get a quick and friendly response.
Bottom line: reccomended.
